Former Latvian President, vice-president of the Reflection Group on the
long-term future of the European Union Vaira Vike-Freiberga visited the
Alley of Honors to pay tribute to Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar. She
also laid flowers at the tomb of eminent ophthalmologist, academician
Zarifa Aliyeva. Vike-Freiberga also visited the Alley of Martyrs to
lay flowers at the tombs of Azerbaijan's brave sons who died for the
country's independence and territorial integrity.
