Azerbaijani embassy and military attaché’s office in Pakistan held a solemn ceremony in Marriott hotel in Islamabad on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the embassy said.
About 20 high-ranking generals and admirals of Pakistani army, government officials, representatives of troops, heads of the embassies and representations in the country, military attachés, outstanding intellectuals, media representatives and the servicemen of the Armed Forces studying in Pakistan attended the event. The event was attended by over 100 guests.
A video about Azerbaijani Armed Forces was screened, marches of the military orchestra were played out as well. The participants were given brochures about Azerbaijani Armed Forces, special edition of Pakistan’s English-language newspaper “Daily Ittehad” entitled “Glorious, professional and perfectly-equipped Azerbaijani Armed Forces”.
Assistant of Pakistan Land Forces Commander for Communications and Information Technologies, Lieutenant-General Tanvir Tahir, who was attending the ceremony as a supreme guest, congratulated the leadership and personnel of Azerbaijani Armed Forces on occasion of the holiday. He expressed his satisfaction with the level of the military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and noted the necessity of extending the relations.
Pakistan’s newspapers in English and Urdu also published articles about Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
