"Azerbaijan has faced a double injustice. Though, its territories were invaded, the international community does not give a fair support to the solution of the problem," said Italian President of the Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini while meeting Azerbaijan`s Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov in Rome.
The Azerbaijani speaker praised the opinion of his Italian counterpart, describing it as a “message from the top official of one of the world`s leading countries" to the international community.
Asadov also hailed a declaration adopted by the Italian Senate in February concerning situation in the Southern Caucasus, which emphasizes the importance of the principle of territorial integrity in settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and ensuring peace in the whole Sothern Caucasus.
The two also focused on current state of bilateral political, economic, cultural and interparliamentary relations.
