Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has confirmed that Azerbaijan's military exercises with the US to be held in May under the US-Azerbaijan bilateral military cooperation agreement have been cancelled.
Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's Spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Eldar Sabiroglu said the trainings had been postponed.
“But I don’t know the cause of the cancellation. I need investigation”.
In accordance with the US-Azerbaijan bilateral military cooperation agreement, Regional response – 2009 joint exercise was held in Azerbaijan last April with the participation of the US servicemen. It was planned to hold similar exercise this year, too.
