“The personalities of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs do not have any impact on the Karabakh negotiation process,” Azerbaijani political expert Araz Alizade said.

“Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are, first and foremost, diplomats who carry out tasks entrusted to them by their foreign ministers. They do not decide anything on their own. Besides, France, Russia and the U.S. are not interested in a fair resolution to the Karabakh conflict,” the expert said.

"Over the years, the OSCE Minsk Group has seen many co-chairs who like tourists travel to Baku, Yerevan and Karabakh waiting for a new appointment. Things are right where they started because they are interested in freezing the conflict and maintaining the stalemate," noted political analyst speaking on impact of a possible change of co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group on the negotiation process.

Recently, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair reported that Armenia does not agree with 4 points of the updated Madrid principles. Asked on what the principles the conflicting parties could reach an agreement based on the conclusions of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, Alizade said that " it is very difficult to make any conclusions without directly participating in the negotiation process.”

“It's like guessing on coffee grounds. But I note only that Armenia will agree with those principles which meets its interests and reject those that are based on international law and justice," the expert added.
