On Feb. 24, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of condolence to President of Turkey Abdullah Gul.
The letter says:
"I was deeply grieved upon hearing the news about loss of many human lives in a gas explosion at a coal mine in Balikesir province.
I share your sorrow over this tragedy, and on behalf of myself and Azerbaijan people I express deep sympathies to the families and friends of the killed and all the people of Turkey. I wish speedy recovery to those wounded and injured.
May Allah rest their souls in peace!"
