Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said mutual cancellation of visa regime between Azerbaijan and Turkey was being debated, Turkish pro-government Sabah newspaper reported.
In his address to the central decision-making staff of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Erdogan said Turkey and Azerbaijan have reached a principal understanding to lift visa regime.
He said relevant agreement would be signed during the oncoming visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Turkey.
Turkey has signed free-visa agreement with Syria and is expected to sign similar agreement with Jordan soon.
