“Amendment to the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan is not real at the present time."
The law was adopted and two or three elections were held on its basis”, Chief of the Public Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov said.
He said the election experiences and opinions showed that the Electoral Code ensured democratic, transparent and fair elections.
“The proposals made for this Code could be valued as an initiative only. There is no need to make amendments to this law or to change it. This is not realistic”.
Six oppositional parties united in the Movement for Karabakh and the Republic have developed a draft law on amendments to the Electoral Code.
