Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev met at Bayan Palace in Kuwait with Chairman of the country`s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ali Mohammed Thunayan Al-Ghanim, according to AzerTac.

They expressed satisfaction with the bilateral political relations, and stressed the two countries have enhanced their cooperation within international organizations.

It was pointed out during the talk that the level of bilateral economic and trade relations does not meet the countries` existing potential, and that it is necessary to take concrete measures.

Both the Azerbaijani President and Chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed the importance of making reciprocal investments and setting up joint enterprises.

They also expressed confidence the bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait will further deepen.

On the same day Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Speaker of Kuwait`s National Assembly Jassem Muhammad al-Kharafi as part of his official visit to the country.

During the conversation they expressed satisfaction with development of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
It was stressed that the Azerbaijani leader`s current visit serves to strengthen the Azerbaijan-Kuwait relations.

Interparliamentary ties were also discussed, and both the Azerbaijani President and Speaker of Kuwait`s National Assembly pointed out there are good prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two countries` parliaments.

Later President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met here at Bayan Palace with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, our special correspondent reports.

They expressed satisfaction with development of the bilateral relations between the two countries, and pointed out there is a good potential to enhance economic cooperation.

The importance of President Ilham Aliyev`s current visit was stressed during the talk.

Both the Azerbaijani leader and Kuwait`s Premier expressed confidence the bilateral relations will further deepen.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met here at Bayan Palace with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

They described the bilateral relations between the two countries as developing successfully in various areas, especially in the political one.

The two leaders discussed prospects for developing relations in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and investment. They also exchanged vies on international and regional issues.
Following the meeting, the Azerbaijani President and Kuwaiti Emir exchanged highest state awards.

Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah presented President Ilham Aliyev with Kuwait`s highest state award – the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order.
President Ilham Aliyev presented Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with Azerbaijan`s highest award – the Heydar Aliyev Order.

Present in the ceremony were Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and other officials, including members of the Azerbaijani delegation.

After the awarding ceremony Azerbaijan and Kuwait signed here at Bayan Palace several intergovernmental documents in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev and Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Kuwait`s Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Salim al-Sabah signed an agreement for the creation of a Joint commission on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait; Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev and Kuwaiti Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shamali signed an agreement for the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait; Azerbaijani Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov and Kuwaiti Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shamali signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on property and prevention of tax evasion between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait; Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev and Kuwait`s Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmad Baqer Al-Abdullah signed a trade agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait; Azerbaijan`s Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev and Kuwait`s Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmad Baqer Al-Abdullah signed and agreement on tourism cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait.

Later an official reception in honor of the President of Azerbaijan was held on behalf of the Emir of Kuwait.

Ilham Aliyev continues his visit to Kuwait.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev today arrived in Kuwait for an official visit.

A guard of honor was lined up at the Kuwait International Airport decorated with national flags of Azerbaijan and Kuwait.

President Ilham Aliyev was welcomed here by Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait`s Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Speaker of the Kuwait National Assembly Jasim Muhammad al-Kharafi, Kuwait`s Prime Minister Sheikh Nasir Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah and other officials.

The two leaders inspected a ceremonial guard of honor as a military orchestra played the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Kuwait.

Members of the Kuwaiti delegation were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev, while Azerbaijan`s officials to the Amir of Kuwait.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev left for Kuwait for an official visit on Tuesday.

At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the President was seen off by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Mayor of Baku Hajibala Abutalybov.
