President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has ended his visit to Azerbaijan.

A concert on the occasion of the opening of the Ukrainian Cultural Days took place in the Muslim Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic within the framework of the visit of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko to Azerbaijan.

Press-service of the President told APA that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko watched the concert program performed by the Ukrainian artists. Following the concert, a miniature of the Taras Shevchenko’s monument erected in Baku was presented to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the Philharmonic’s Hall. Author of the monument, the Ukrainian sculptor Igor Grechanik said presenting the miniature of the freedom fighter Taras Shevchenko’s monument to the President of Azerbaijan had a symbolic nature.

The head of state called the opening of the Taras Shevchenko’s monument in Baku as a remarkable event and congratulated its author for the successful work.

With this the Ukrainian president ended his one-day working visit to Azerbaijan.

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko will leave for Batumi, Georgia on Tuesday to attend the GUAM Third Summit.

Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine Ilham Aliyev and Viktor Yushchenko agreed to open Ukrainian school in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani school in Ukraine, said both presidents at today's joint press conference in Baku.

Particularly, Yushchenko announced that due instructions will be set before the profile ministries and ambassador in the two countries.

Cooperation also continues in the sphere of education of Azerbaijanis at Ukrainian high schools, according to the President.

Monument erected to great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko has been inaugurated in Baku yesterday, APA reports.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko attended the event.

Addressing the event, the Ukrainian President estimated erection of monument as a token of respect to Ukrainians.

“This makes us closer”, he said.

Aliyev added that erection of the monument to ardent patriot in Azadlyg Square is of symbolizing character. Ilham Aliyev stated that the two nations respected each other and inauguration of the monument was an example for it.

Odessa-Brody oil pipeline will be filled with technological oil, APA reports quoting Ukrainian President’s Press Service.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko announced after Azerbaijan-Ukraine negotiations in Baku.

Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan would transmit experimental oil via Odessa-Brody oil pipeline soon and the project would be tested. The President added that serious achievement had been gained on realization of the project and feasibility study was being prepared to create imagination about efficiency of project in terms of commerce.

"After coordination of all technical issues, determination of transmission of Caspian oil to Black Sea region, we will take first step", he said.

Yushchenko stated that transmission of Caspian oil via Odessa-Brody pipeline had been coordinated. Ukrainian President added that proper measures had been taken in the establishment of "Sarmatia" joint enterprise and stressed that there was not any problem in the project implementation.

The Presidents have debated economic cooperation, mutual investments, humanitarian and cultural cooperation, including energy during the negotiations.

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushenko stressed positive results of energy projects, implemented in cooperation with Azerbaijan. At the same time, he said at the beginning of expanded Ukrainian-Azerbaijani talks in Baku, according to the press service for the Ukrainian President that he is satisfied with the progress of energy projects.

The President highly appreciated the state of bilateral relations, fixing successful progress on most issues.

Yushenko also stressed importance of such event as the planned opening of Taras Shevchenko's monument in Baku.

In turn, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stressed intensification of bilateral contacts, recalling his visit to Ukraine, held in May of this year. According to Aliyev, all issues of bilateral relations, which are on the agenda, are coordinated in line with the national interests of both countries.

The Ukrainian side is represented by Foreign Minister Vladimir Ogrizko, Minister of Culture and Tourism Vasili Vovkun, deputy chief of the presidential secretariat Alexander Chaliy, director general of Ukrspetsexport Sergey Bondarchuk, chief of the presidential office Ruslan Demchenko.

Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine Ilham Aliyev and Viktor Yushenko had a private meeting before the start of talks in the presidential palace.

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has arrived for a working visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, reports Azertac.

The head of the Ukrainian state was greeted by first deputy of the Azerbaijani Prime Minister Eyub Yaqubov and other officials.

It should be noted that during the visit the Ukrainian President will take part at the opening ceremony of Taras Shevchenko's monument in Baku, hold a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President to exchange views on all aspects of bilateral relations.

The program of the visit envisions participation in the opening ceremony of the days of Ukrainian culture in Azerbaijan to be held in the Green theater and the visit to the site for construction of the Ukrainian embassy to Azerbaijan.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko will pay a working visit to Azerbaijan.

According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, his visit to Azerbaijan is the third following his being elected the President of Ukraine.

The press service for the Ukrainian embassy to Azerbaijan noted that during the visit Viktor Yushchenko will be accompanied by a delegation to comprise members of the government, culture and art figures.

According to Ukranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Boris Klimcuk during the visit, agreements will not be signed and meetings with heads of Azerbaijani energy establishments are also not planned.

The main purpose of Yushenko's visit to Azerbaijan is participation in the opening ceremony of memorial to Great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in Baku.

The opening ceremony is expected to be attended by Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine Ilham Aliyev and Viktor Yushchenko, members of the two governments as well as community representatives.

It should be noted that works on reconstruction of a park, locating at Azadlyg avenue, in front of the Dostlug (Friendship) cinema, where Shevchenko's memorial will be erected, finished in early April in Baku.

A music fountain was established in the place of an old one in the park and a bronze monument of Taras Shevchenko of about two meters height was erected near it. The height of the base, made of brown granite is 0.4 meters. The area around the memorial and the fountain is covered with while granite bars, brought from Ukraine. Decoratic trees are planted around the fountain and along the park.

The reconstruction project was worked out by Azerbaijani and Ukrainian architects.

Following the opening, President Yushchenko will visit the Khatai district of the capital city to familiarize with the construction of a new complex of buildings of the Ukrainian embassy to Azerbaijan.

The project of the embassy complex, including the offices of the council and culture center of Ukraine, has been worked out by Azerbaijani architects.

The opening of the days of Ukrainian culture in Azerbaijan will be held with participation of two presidents in the Green Theater. Ukrainian gutsul national ensemble of song and dances, as well as the Ukrainian academic choir of 10 Pandora-players will perform during the opening.

After finishing his visit to Baku, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko will leave to the Georgian capital to attend the third summit of the heads of GUAM member-states (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) to be held in Batumi on July 1.

It should be reminded that Ukrainian president visited Azerbaijan on September 7-8 of 2006. On June 18 of 2007 he attended the summit of the GUAM presidents.
