Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was reportedly disappointed after news emerged that Armenia had decided not to purchase India’s Tejas fighter jets. The planned contract, valued at 1.2 billion USD for 12 aircraft, was being negotiated between the Armenian government and the Indian aircraft manufacturer HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited).

According to reports, Armenia’s decision was influenced by the recent crash of a Tejas fighter jet at the Dubai Airshow. The aircraft had been brought to the event to demonstrate its capabilities to potential buyers, but the crash and the death of the pilot raised concerns.

As a result, the negotiations were halted and the contract is no longer being pursued.
