Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchekhr Mottaki is visiting Baku in early May.

As APA reports, the goal of the visit is participation in the Session of FMs of member-countries of Organization for Economic Cooperation (OEC) held May 4 in Baku. The main theme at the session will be preparation to OEC Summit to be held May 5 in Baku. Iranian President Mahmud Ahmedinejad is awaited at the Summit.

OEC was established in 1985 and is a legal successor of Regional Cooperation organization for Development that used to operate based on the charter, signed by three states – Turkey, Iran and Pakistan – March 1, 1977. In 1992 Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan joined the organization.
