Washington does not have any plans to carry out 'color' revolution in Azerbaijan, Reno Harnish, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told journalists on Wednesday.

"The United States do not support the revolution, do not organize and do not believe them," the diplomat stressed.

Besides, the United States does not back any political figure or party in Azerbaijan. "We only support the development of democratic processes in Azerbaijan," he underlined.

Harnish noted that the United States propose conducting training for political figures and theirĀ  candidates for better participation in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in November. In addition, the US embassy is going to invite its observers to the parliamentary elections and intends to assist in summarizing the exit-polls. (Trend Agency)

The Ambassador stressed that no secret talks were conducted with the opposition. He was commenting on the concerns by some MPs, including Speaker Murtuz Alasgarov, in connection with the recent meeting of Harnish with the opposition representatives in the regions, as well as accusations on the organization of 'color' revolution in Azerbaijan. Harnish said he only met with leadership of local executive powers and observed his diplomatic authorities.
