The Azerbaijani government and NATO will sign an Action Plan on Individual Partnership shortly, Ramiz Malikov, the spokesman for the Defense Ministry told Trend on Monday.

According to Malikov, a delegation of NATO senior officials will visit Azerbaijan in this respect. "Azerbaijan is a country actively cooperating with NATO. In 2004 the Azerbaijani forces participated in over 300 NATO events. Starting from 2004 the Azerbaijani military hold exercises in compliance with the NATO standards. So, there is no problem in the Azerbaijani-NATO relationships. By signing the agreement Azerbaijan will come closer to Azerbaijan," Malikov said.
