The Armenian armed units breached the truce with Azerbaijan a total of 29 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry said on November 7.

The attacks were carried out from mortars and heavy machine guns in different directions of the contact line between the Armenian and Azerbaijani troops.

The Armenian armed forces, stationed in Armenia's Shavarshavan village in Noyemberyan region and Aygedzor village in Berd region subjected to fire the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces located in Farahli village of Gazakh region and nameless hills in Tovuz region.

The ceasefire was also violated in Chilaburt village in Tartar region, Bash Garvand, Garagashli villages in Aghdam region, Horadiz village in Fuzuli region, as well as nameless hills in Goranboy, Tartar, Khojavend and Fuzuli regions.

Armenia captured Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions from Azerbaijan in a war that followed the Soviet breakup in 1991. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and nearly 1 million were displaced as a result of the war.

Large-scale hostilities ended with a Russia-brokered ceasefire in 1994 but Armenia continued the occupation in defiance of four UN Security Council resolutions calling for immediate and unconditional withdrawal.

Peace talks mediated by Russia, France and the U.S. have produced no results so far.
