MPs of the Astrakhan Oblast Duma have supported Governor Alexander Jilkin`s submission to award President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva with the Order for Services to Astrakhan Oblast.
Headed by Mehriban Aliyeva, the Foundation is carrying out large scale important social projects in the region. A monument to Heydar Aliyev was erected in Astrakhan. A garden and the building of secondary school No.11 after Heydar Aliyev were reconstructed. The Azerbaijan-Russia Friendship Bridge opened in 2012.
The Foundation is currently building a 240-seat kindergarten.
