President Ilham Aliyev sends letter of condolence to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
The letter reads:
Dear Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich,
I have been deeply saddened by the news of heavy human loss in the aftermath of a crash in the Moscow metro.
On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I extend my deep condolences to you, the loved ones and relatives of the dead, and wish those injured a speedy recovery.
