The interference in Azerbaijan's internal affairs and the attempts to direct it is unacceptable, Elman Abdullayev, the spokesman of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend on May 19.
He made the remarks while commenting on the recent interview of the U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan to the Azadlig radio about the political situation in Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan adheres to the position of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and therefore believes that other states, including the United States, must show the same approach with respect to Azerbaijan," Abdullayev stressed.
He went on to add that the interstate relations should be based on the principles of equality.
