Azerbaijan will start chairing the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on May 14.
Austria transferred chairmanship to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's chairmanship will last for six months.
It should be stressed that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov announced the priorities of the country's chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Council of Europe in Vienna on May 6.
Mammadyarov said that while implementing the numerous democratic reforms consistently and successfully, Azerbaijan has fulfilled all commitments taken when joining the Council of Europe.
