The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has launched a joint project with the US-based Urban Alliance which specializes in supporting young higher school graduates through training and courses.

A special ceremony took place in Urban Alliance`s headquarters in Washington to mark the start of the project.

Addressing the ceremony, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the US Jamila Pashayeva-Seidzade highlighted the goals and tasks of the organization she represents. She also emphasized the expanded activities of the Foundation under Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of
Azerbaijan, mentioning her attention to solve educational and youth problems in the country.

Speaking about the joint project with Urban Alliance, Pashaeva-Seyidzade noted that the Foundation will support three girls in their internship.

The event featured the screening of a film about the activities of the Foundation.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the US Elin Suleymanov highlighted the Foundation`s achievements.

Emphasizing the projects aimed at enhancing women`s role in society, the diplomat singled out the construction of a school for girls in Pakistan.

The Ambassador also described the joint project with Urban Alliance as important in terms of deepen ties between the two countries.

Urban Alliance Board Chair Mary Zients, President Ishuana Smiith and Director for Strategic Partnership Meaghan Woodbury spoke of the activities of the organizationç and said they were confident that the cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation would be a success.
