The number of Azerbaijani citizens applying to EU countries for refuge increased by 16.3 percent compared to 2012 (2030 people) and amounted to 2360 in 2013, a new report from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said.
In total, some 28 EU countries received 398,200 appeals for refuge in 2013 which is 32 percent more than in 2012 (301,000 people).
In total, 38 EU countries received 484,600 appeals for refuge from different countries in 2013 which is 32 percent more than in 2012 (368,400).
