The name of people's artist of Moldova, Constantin Moscovici has been withdrawn from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's list of undesirable persons, which includes the persons, who visited Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan's other regions under Armenian occupation, without Azerbaijan's consent.
Moscovici's name is not on the list of undesirable persons, posted on the ministry's website.
Moldovan citizen Constantin Moscovici addressed Azerbaijan's leadership to withdraw his name from the list of undesirable persons, which is compiled by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, including persons who illegally visited the country's occupied territories and thereby violated the law "On State Border."
The visits to Nagorno-Karabakh and other Armenian-occupied regions of Azerbaijan without Azerbaijan's consent are considered illegal, and the names of the persons who made these visits are included on the "black list" of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Among the persons who applied to the Foreign Ministry are Aleksey Mitrofanov - the member of the State Duma of Russia, head of the Moscow office of the "Voice of America" James Brooke, students of Johns Hopkins University and other persons.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the U.S. are currently holding peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
