A ceremony to open the first phase of construction of Tufan Alpine Skiing Summer and Winter Recreation Complex has taken place in Gabala.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.
President Ilham Aliyev cut a ribbon to officially inaugurate the first phase of Tufan Alpine Skiing Summer and Winter Recreation Complex, which is located 4km from the city of Gabala.
The President was told that the first phase of work saw construction of four cable lines, and five of 10 ski slopes.
The complex features a number of facilities for tourists, including restaurants, a skiing school, a golf club and a hotel.
The complex will serve up to 3,000 people a day.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed of the work to be carried out in the second phase of construction.

Tufan Alpine Skiing Summer and Winter Recreation Complex will play a critical role in developing winter sports in Azerbaijan.
