The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Azerbaijani people with
Eid al-Adha.

The congratulatory message reads:

Dear fellow countrymen!

I heartily congratulate you, the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan and our compatriots living in foreign countries, on the sacred Eid al-Adha, the symbol of spiritual unity and solidarity of Muslims of the world, and send my best wishes.

Eid al-Adha is the personification of the blessed day when Islam was completed as a religion and was chosen as the path to salvation for the people. On this auspicious day, the majority of Muslims, making a sacrifice in the name of God, experience the joy of closeness to Allah and attachment to moral values, demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice everything for the sake of noble ideas.

Eid al-Adha ceremonies annually performed in Azerbaijan with a great sense of joy urge people to live in peace and tranquillity, become a triumph of national and spiritual solidarity, humanity and brotherhood in our society.

My dear sisters and brothers:

Wishing the prayers you make on these days for prosperity and welfare of our people and state as well as sacrifices to be accepted by Almighty, I express once again my sincere congratulations to each of you. May this bright holiday bring happiness and abundance to your families.

Happy Eid al-Adha!
