Two Azerbaijanis were brutally beaten in the French National Assembly building, in Paris on February 26.

The French National Assembly held an event entitled "Sumgait events after 25 years: the present situation and future prospects for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh" by attendance of representatives of the Armenian-French community and several members of the French Parliament.

The event was organized by a pro-Armenian member of the National Assembly of France Francois Roshebloun.

Chairman of Paris-based “House of Azerbaijan” Mirvari Fataliyeva and Azerbaijani student Vusal Huseynov, learning about the event came to the conference room. They said that Khojaly genocide committed on that day by Armenians and chanted slogans. However, their slogans were met with threats.

Organizers of the event, closing the hall`s door brutally beat Azerbaijanis. Parliamentarian Francois Roshebloun personally urged to beat them.

Police officers and ambulances arrived at the scene.
The incident occurred at the beginning of the event. Thus, participants observed a minute`s silence in memory of the Armenians who died during the Sumgait events but Azerbaijanis did not rise from their seats, the organizers asked them the reason and Mirvari Fataliyeva answered: "Today, is the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide in Azerbaijan and we commemorate the victims of this tragedy.”

Mirvari Fataliyeva`s answer made Armenians angry and about 40 Armenians and the French brutally beat Azerbaijani students.

Azerbaijani student Vusal Huseynov, trying to fence compatriot from injuries was seriously injured. According to the report, his internal organs were damaged, as well as a rib was broken.
