Citizen of Uzbekistan Zamirzhon Otazhonov, who was accused of
espionage by the Armenian intelligence, intends to file a lawsuit in an
international court for defamation and violation of his rights on the
territory of Armenia.
"The information spread by the Armenian Ministry of National Security
on the alleged detection and prevention of provocations of the special
services of Azerbaijan, which I supposedly should execute, is a lie,"
citizen of Uzbekistan, a Tajik by nationality Zamirzhon Otazhonov said
during the press conference at Trend.
The National Security of Armenia previously spread the information
about alleged identified and prevented provocations of Azerbaijani
Special Forces. According to the information, Uzbek citizen Zamirzhon
Otazhonov (born in 1979) addressed to the law enforcement bodies of
Armenia and said that he is ready to carry out terrorist acts in Baku
for $20,000. Otazhonov said that he worked in a construction company in
Baku in 2012, the management of which refused to pay for work, and since
then, he hates the Azerbaijanis. As further stated in the information
of the Armenian Ministry of national Security, the operative
investigations revealed that Otazhanov addressed to law enforcement
bodies of Armenia by order of the Azerbaijani special services and his
offer is a provocation.
Otazhonov arrived in Azerbaijan from Russia and addressed to the law
enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan, announced his intention to refute
biased and unfounded accusations of the Armenian Ministry of National
Security against him, after the spread of the false information in the
media.
Otazhonov said that he was in Georgia on Oct. 24, where he was
treated. From there he was to fly to Russia. However, it was proposed to
fly through Yerevan as there were no tickets to Tbilisi. He agreed
because a ticket was cheap. After he arrived he was immediately detained
by the Armenian special services. They took him to a building of the
National Security Ministry and urged him to explain his visit to
Azerbaijan indicated in his passport. Otazhanov explained that his wife
is an Azerbaijani citizen and he often earns money in this country.
Otazhonov added that he was tortured, starved and beaten by the
Armenian special services. They urged him to recognize that he is
cooperating with the Azerbaijani special services and arrived in Yerevan
on their order.
Otherwise, the Armenian special services threatened to arrest him. They added that nobody will help him in Armenia.
"On the third day some individuals returned my passport and things
and asked to sign a document, written in the Armenian language," he
said. When I refused, they began beating me and forced me to sign."
Afterwards, Otazhonov was released and taken by car to the Georgian border.
"The individuals took my $ 450, which I had before my arrest," he
said. "Somehow, I went to Tbilisi, took money from my friends to buy a
ticket to Ufa."
Otazhonov learned about the accusations in one of the social networks, decided to come to Baku and tell the truth.
"I have never cooperated with the Azerbaijani special services," he
said. "Azerbaijan is my second motherland. My wife is a citizen of this
country. All charges of Armenian special services are nothing but a
lie."
He added that he still did not understand the motives of his
detention in Armenia, or why he was released, rather than sentenced if
he really was guilty, as the Armenian special services claimed.
