Governor of the U.S. state of Rhode Island Lincoln D. Chafee signed a proclamation officially congratulating the people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming Day of Republic. This has become possible thanks to the efforts of the US-Azerbaijan Council and Azerbaijan Society of the United States.
Lincoln Davenport Chafee is an American politician who has been the 74th Governor of Rhode Island since January 2011. Chafee was a supporter of Barack Obama's 2008 presidential bid and is currently a co-chair of Obama's re-election campaign. Chafee was the only Republican in the Senate to have voted against authorization of the use of force in Iraq.
