“The Armenian leadership chose a position to be an aggressor and accuse others”, said spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev commenting on the Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian’s recent statements.
“Unfortunately, we witness again that Armenian side disregards the international community. Is Armenian minister really of such mean opinion about the world community? It is interesting, why is the contact line of troops, about which Nalbandian speaks so enthusiastically, situated in Azerbaijan’s territory? There is a simple response – Armenian leadership continues its aggressive policy. It is interesting, did Nalbandian told German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle about the order given by Armenian leadership to its snipers to shoot and blast Azerbaijani children with the bombs hidden in toys? If the country occupies the territory of another one, carries out ethnic cleansing by expelling local population before the eyes of international community in the 21st century, what progress can the Armenian minister speak about? I don’t understand, about which positive response does Nalbandian speak while Armenia disregards all resolutions and documents adopted by the international organizations, including the UN Security Council? The Armenian leadership chose a position to be aggressor and accuse others”.
According to Armenian press, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian said at the joint press conference with German FM Guido Westerwelle that Azerbaijan hinders progress in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict by refusing to observe previous agreements. Nalbandian said that the agreement on establishing mechanism for investigation of contact line incidents has been achieved in Sochi, but Azerbaijan made all efforts to prevent such mechanism within a year”.
