Activities around the State Flag Square have no relation to the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Baku and preparation of the appropriate contest venue, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov said.
Hasanov was commenting on some media reports about demolition of buildings near the State Flag Square and violation of citizens' property rights in connection with the construction of Crystal Hall to host the upcoming contest.
"The entire work carried out in Baku, and particularly in this area is associated with upgrading the city's old infrastructure, implementation of road, transport and other infrastructure projects, as well as specific projects on enlarging Baku Boulevard," Hasanov noted.
"Unfortunately, certain interested circles try to link these events with the Eurovision Song Contest, by intentionally politicizing them, and in some cases, foreign media outlets fall under the influence of unverified information, without any investigation," he added.
