Tajikistan has a very diverse culture attributed to its rich historical past. The culture of Tajikistan has developed over several thousand years.

Tajiks are by right proud of their national cuisine, which boasts countless delicious recipes. It is known for dishes such as kabuli pulao, qabili palau, and samanu.

The traditional dress of Tajikistan was developed as a part of the Central Asian costume. Its design differs from region to region in terms of color, embroideries, style.

An event dedicated to Tajik culture was held in Baku on October 30, Trend Life reported.

The event was organized by Tajikistan’s Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guests, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Rustam Soli stressed the diversity of rich Tajik culture and cuisine.

The ambassador highlighted the role of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the development of the country’s culture.

National Tajik clothes were demonstrated as part of the event.

The guests enjoyed delicious Tajik meals.

Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, both post-Soviet republics, established diplomatic relations on May 29, 1992. The cooperation between the two countries reached a new level in 2008, when an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was launched.

Today, cultural exchanges of national masters of classical music, symphonic orchestras of the two countries have become traditional.

Creative teams of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan participate in international competitions held in both countries.

In 2007, the Days of Culture of Tajikistan were successfully held in the cities of Baku and Ganja, while the Days of Azerbaijani culture were held in Dushanbe in 2008.

Numerous events, including cinema weeks, international conference dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the great Tajik Persian poet, scholar and thinker Mavlono Abdurakhman Jami were held within the framework of the fruitful cooperation.
