A rock opera, written on the motives of the fairy tale "The Traveler Sinbad", was staged for the first time in Baku on October 27.

The project, organized by the Ministry of Culture is headed by famous singer and composer Rizvan Sadikhanov, Trend Life reported.

The event was attended by prominent public figures, members of the Azerbaijan Youth Association , cultural figures and numerous fans of theatrical art.

Work on the opera lasted more than two years, the plot is based on the fairy tale  "The Traveler Sinbad" from the book "1001 Nights".

The multicultural project features poems of world classics, quotations in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, Italian and Czech, as well as poems of Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.

The artistic director and director of the production is Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Nijat Kazimov, music producer - Emil Minyashev, choreographer - People’s Artist Jamila Bayramova, artist - Honored Worker of Culture Ilham Elkhanoglu, authors of texts for opera arias - Leyla Aliyeva, Azad Hajiyev, Leyli Salayeva, Rafael Huseynov, Alessandro Milani, Jozsef Sladek, Shamsi Gachar, Nikolai Gumilev and others.

The cast includes honored artists Nargiz Karimova and Ilham Nazarov, as well as Mikayil Rafiyev , Gulshan Ibadova, Emil Minyashev, Rizvan Sadirkhanov, Azer Rza, Javid Samadov, Shamil Karimov, Yulia Motorina, Mila Rzayeva, Ismayil Yakubov, Nargiz Alizade, Adalat Shukurov, Yaroslav Trifonov, Gunel Mammadova and others

The audience was eagerly waiting for the production as "The Traveler Sinbad" is the first rock opera in Azerbaijan.

The performance tells about the travels of Sinbad - the legendary sailor. Leaving his beloved, he goes on a journey through the seas and countries.

The rock opera was very fascinating and caused great interest among the viewers.

Beautiful music, great vocal and acting, spectacular dance numbers, bright costumes - all this created a wonderful atmosphere.
