Azerbaijani film critic Ulvi Mehti will be a jury member of the 13th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.

The film festival will be held in Kazan (Tatarstan) on September 5-11, the critic told Trend.

The selection committee members are honourable Russian and foreign film critics. They thoroughly analyze the films sent for the festival, and as a result interesting and  original, films are selected for the competitive program.

This year's program includes 782 films from 61 countries. A special commission headed by the Russian film critic Sergei Lavrentiev has determined shortlists in every category.

The aim of the festival is to ensure experience exchange of the workers in the sphere of culture and Arts of Russia and Muslim countries of the neighboring and far-abroad countries, display the creative achievements of the Muslim cinematographers and the representatives of the other religious affiliation, who make films popularizing human, spiritual and moral values as well as cultural traditions.
