15 May 2014 [11:14] - Today.Az

Batman vs Superman (which is still an unofficial title) director Zack Snyder has given fans their first look at Ben Affleck as Batman and the new look Batmobile.

Both wheels and driver look slick as a bulky Affleck stands next his car - chicks LOVE the car.

The Caped Crusader looks as moody and mysterious as ever, clenching his fists and staring at the ground in the atmospheric black and white shot.

Although there was a groan when it was announced that the much-anticipated movie will be delayed until May 2016, it's official that the reworking of Batman has begun.

Snyder teased the vehicle yesterday on his Twitter, with a message stating that it "could be time to pull the tarp," and now they have.

Snyder’s latest post reads: “I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom. #Batman #Batmobile #Gotham”.

Affleck re-tweeted the image shortly after and overall the reaction seems to have been positive on social media.

Actor Simon Pegg commented: "Since a fair few people have asked me and despite my opinion in this matter being irrelevant, I think the new Batman costumes looks awesome."

Some were a little more underwhelmed by the news though, with American Pie star Jason Biggs joking: "Picture Batman. That's what he looks like."

Fair point, well made.

Affleck looks stocky in new suit - but are those muscles real?

The last news we received on the movie is that Jesse Eisenberg had been cast as Lex Luthor in the upcoming film - and Twitter fans certainly weren't happy.

In fact, there's not been as much controversy over a choice of actor since, well, Ben Affleck was named as Batman.

Fittingly for The Social Network star, Twitter went into meltdown when the shock decision was announced by Warner Bros.

One comic fan wrote: "So far my favourite villain in the Superman vs Batman movie is the casting director."
