April 17-19, 2012, Baku will host the 29th European Regional Conference of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the 37th session of the European Commission on Agriculture.
Agreement on these activities was signed on Tuesday by the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Ismet Abbasov and FAO Deputy Director and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia Fernanda Guerrieri.

According to Abbasov, the Azerbaijani government is ready to develop relations with FAO in the future. "Unlike many other countries, Azerbaijan fulfills all its commitments before the FAO, including financial," said Abbasov.
Guerrieri said Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of FAO. "The representatives of 54 countries will arrive to attend events to be held in Baku," said Guerrieri.
