Some 128 wells of SOCAR located in the territory of Azneft Industrial Union were abolished within last year, SOCAR’s vice-president on ecological issued Rafiga Huseynzadeh said.
To her, last year, 40 hectare of oil polluted land in the territory of Azneft IU was recultivated and renovated. 34.1 ha artificial ponds and wetlands were dried. At present, bioremediation works are carried out in 61ha area belonged to Balakhanioil and Absheronoil oil and gas production named after H.Z.Tagiyev.
Huseynzadeh said that total volume of produced waters extracted on SOCAR, onshore joint ventures and operating companies made 71,000 cubic meters. Of these, only 65% was utilized, other part was thrown to environment.
Throwing of 750 cubic meters of produced waters to the environment has been stopped. In general, 128 inefficient wells were abolished on Azneft IU. Daily production of produced waters was decreased by 1.4 thousand cubic meters.
