In 2010, Azerbaijan received from oil and gas projects operated by the British BP Company $14.7 billion compared to $11.7 billion in 2009, the company's report on results of last year says.

According to the report, last year BP's costs under contracts and purchase orders in Azerbaijan amounted to $1.03 billion compared to $982 million in 2009.

In particular, in 2010 the cost of contracts for small and medium enterprises (totally 221) amounted to $149 million, state-owned companies (41) - $28 million, joint enterprises with local partners (20) - $366 million. Costs of foreign contractors in the country last year amounted to $486 million.

About $4.77 million was spent on social projects during the year. In particular, the costs within the project to develop Azerbaijan's offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields amounted to $0.95 million, Shah Deniz - $0.51 million, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi- Erzurum pipelines - $2.03 million. BP has spent $1.28 million within its own social responsibility projects.
