Azerbaijan showed interest in Turna target drone produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI), Maharram Dortgashli, TAI chief executive told APA.
The chief executive said Turna was their private product. The plane fully meets NATO standards and is widely used. About 30 target drones were sold to different countries last year and the company is planning to deliver about 20 such planes to the customers this year.
"Azerbaijani delegation visited our company. There were some proposals, but no deal was signed", said Dortgashli.
He noted that TAI is working on modernization of planes and helicopters. It is carrying out projects of modernization worldwide and shows interest in modernization of planes existed in Azerbaijan’s inventory.
Dortgashli said Azerbaijan and Turkey could continue civil aviation cooperation within a large project. "We can realize the project of passenger plane production together with the regional countries. We invite the friendly and ally countries to the cooperation".
