The first passenger aircraft operating by Baku-Lenkoran landed in Lenkoran Saturday.

The flight was operated by Azeri airlines, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

This airflight will be further operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 09:00 local time. The flight will be operated by French ATR aircrafts.

The cost of the one-way ticket is AZN 41.

It should be reminded that the opening ceremony of the international airport in Lenkoran (country's south) was held on October 8 of this year with participation of president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The Lenkoran airport was built in the former USSR times, yet after the USSR collapse it was closed due to non-profitability. The airport construction started in 2006. For these purposes, the state budget allocated about AZN 40 mln (about AZN 50 mln by the current rate). The project has been implemented by the order of AZAL.

The airport accounts for an air station for 150 passengers, water reservoir for 500 tons, a control check point, a cargo store, a boiler room and water cleaning facility and other objects.
