The process of covering pipes, intended for the underground section of the Bahar-Hovsany-Surakhany pipeline, with concrete was launched at the Caspian Pipe Coatings plant.
According to the press service for the State Oil Company, after covering pipes, produced by German Mannesman, they will be subjected to curing within a month. Later they will be connected and laid on the Caspian floor by means of Suleyman Vezirov pipe-laying vessel.
It should be noted that 20 inches Bahar-Hovsany-Surakhany gas pipeline consists of an underground section (37 kilometers) and 12 kilometer onshore section. The gas pipeline will supply gas to Shimal electric power plant, as well as other establishments around Baku.
The gas pipeline's capacity will make 5,000,000 cubic meters daily. Gas will be supplied from the Guneshli field.
The laying of the gas pipeline's underground section will start in a month. At the same time, laying of the onshore pipeline will be initiated. The Bahar-Hovsany-Surakhany gas pipeline will be launched by the end of this year.
