Azerbaijan will be represented at the next session of the European Committee of Postal Regulators to be held in Riga (Latvia) on May 14-16.
Day.Az reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies that during the event the participants will discuss preparation of the committee member-states for participation at the next 24th congress of the World Postal Union, specify positions for introduction of amendments and alterations of the WPU acts, consider the final variant of the project on the World Postal strategy, which will be adopted in the framework of the congress.
Moreover, election of the chairman and deputies of the committee for the next 3 years, renewal of the composition of its work and project groups, election of new members to these groups will also be discussed in Riga.
It should be noted that due to the conduction of elections, an election commission was created at the last session of the committee held in Baku on December 4-6. The commission of three persons also included a representative of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan has been the member of the Committee of European Postal Regulators since 2001. The committee is one of the three committees of the European Conference of postal and communication administrations.
