In the first quarter of 2008 Azerbaijan's industrial production and provided services in the amount of AZN 7,051,900,000 which is 12.9% higher as compared to the same period of the last year.

Day.Az reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan that through the reported period the state sector produced production in the amount of AZN 1,279,100,000 and AZN 5,772,700,000 in the private sector.

At the same time, in particular, the volume of extractive industries production made up AZN 5,488,500,000, processing industry AZN 1,212,600,000, energy, water and gas production and distribution AZN 350,800,000.

At the same time, the rise in the oil sector made up 12.5% and in the non-oil sector 14.7%.

In particular, the rise was observed:

-in oil production-12.4%;
-gas extraction-85.3%;
-car and equipment production-11%;
-timber processing and timber production-50.8%;
-foodstuffs production-8.8%
-chemical industry -3.8 times;
-metallurgy -43.4% and others.

94.1% of industrial production falls on goods, 5.9% on industrial services, 18.1% on production of state enterprises, 81.9% on private sector, the rise was 3.6 and 15.2% respectively.

As of April 1 the reservoirs had industrial production in the amount of AZN 298,900,000 which is 53.7% higher as compared to the same period of the last year.
