Tokyo is preparing to host the fifth session of the Japanese-Azerbaijani intergovernmental economic commission on February 25-26, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports with reference to Azerbaijani embassy to Japan.

The session participants are expected to discuss cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries.

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Vice Premier Abid Sharifov, co-chairman of the Japanese-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission, will leave for Japan to participate in the session.

It should be reminded that the fourth session of the intergovernmental economic commission was held in Baku in 2007. The governmental delegation of Japan visited Azerbaijan for participation in the session.

It should be noted that Japan is represented by Akita Yakota, vice president of Itochu, the Japanese National Petroleum Corporation, who is a co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission.
