The 31st Assembly of Parties of the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO) member states held in Paris, from 20 to 23 March.

The International Telecommunications Satellite Organization is an intergovernmental organization that incorporates the principle set forth in Resolution 1721 of the General Assembly of the United Nations, which establishes that communication by means of satellites should be available to the nations of the world.

148 countries, including Azerbaijan are the members of the ITSO, founded in 1964 to establish a global communications satellite system.

The current event gathered 500 representatives from 148 countries. Azerbaijan was represented by Bakhtiyar Mammadov, head of the law and human resources department of Azerbaijan Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies.

In his speech, Mr. Mammadov told of the Ministry's activity and its cooperation with the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization. During the meeting with the officials of the ITSO member states, Mr. Mammadov discussed the issues of enhancement of the bilateral relations.

Azerbaijan has been elected to the Advisory Board comprising of 19 countries. AzerTAg
