The first meeting on the theme "Increasing importance of oil geopolicy" of World Economic Forum was held in Davos, Switzerland.

During his speech President Ilham Aliyev stressed the implementation of global energy projects in Azerbaijan and noted that it is important for the whole world. Noting that Azerbaijan's role in energy security increases, the President mentioned the achievements in the sphere of energy and Azerbaijan's economic potential.

Later the heads of the delegations representing the US, Russia, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Brazil, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Republic of Korea, Norway, China, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Belgium delivered speeches.

The role of Azerbaijan in the sphere of energy security of Europe was highly appreciated.

The recent 100 years' history of oil, transportation of energy deliveries to world markets, market regime and change of geopolitical state within investments were spoken about.

Climate change and oil production, global energy security was also spoken about. The duties of the investors for managing the current geopolitical state in international energy sector, nationalization of energy sector in different regions and the measures to be taken by the European Union from the point of view of implementation and strengthening of energy security in this field were also spoken about at the meeting, APA reports quoting to AzerTAc.
