Kazakhstan refined 11.664 million tonnes of crude oil in 2006, up 4.5% year-on-year.

The country refined 1.014 million tonnes of oil in December alone, a government official told Interfax.

The Pavlodar refinery increased throughput 4.8% to 3.897 million tonnes in 2006, PetroKazakhstan Oil Products (Shymkent) - 2.8% to 4.035 million tonnes and the Atyrau refinery - 6.6% to 3.731 million tonnes.

Gasoline production fell 0.6% to 2.342 million tonnes in 2006. Pavlodar raised production 2% to 1.015 million tonnes, while PetroKazakhstan Oil Products reduced output 2.2% to 832,576 tonnes and the Atyrau refinery saw production fall 2.9% to 493,700 tonnes.

Kazakhstan produced 3.457 million tonnes of diesel fuel in 2006, up 8.4%, 270,216 tonnes of aviation kerosene, up 15.4%, and 3.306 million tonnes of fuel oil, down 7.8%.
