Kazakhstan plans to increase the price of wheat exports being sold to Azerbaijan and has already sent proposals to the Government of Azerbaijan.

The new prices will be publicized after the discussion ends, a source in the Government told APA.

Kazakh Company, Araim, told the APA that it has stopped exporting wheat to Azerbaijan as the export expenses increased by 20% and that it is negotiating with Azerbaijan.

The Agriculture Ministry's official Sabir Valiyev said they have not received any proposals from the Company.

He said Azerbaijan has enough wheat stockpiles, adding that Azerbaijan pays 15 kopecks per kilo of Kazakh wheat and plans to imports 500,000 tons of wheat after the Baku Grain Terminal is ready.

Azerbaijan imported 800,000 tons of wheat from Kazakhstan in 2006.
