Iran and Azerbaijan have reached agreement on constructing two water power plants on the border river, Araks.

According to the released report the two sides in a meeting held at Tebriz have agreed to construct two 36 Megawatt water power plants on this river.

Iran and Azerbaijan have allocated a 10 months period for the primary actions such as topographical researches, geodesic and other types of researches in the areas which have been considered for the construction of these plants.

The final designs will be then reviewed in the bilateral commission and will be finalized, ISNA reports.
