The figure made up 1.69bn new manats ($1.85bn) in January-April, or 11.3% over the same period of last year. 88.2% of the funds was directed to production sector. 65.1% of the amount was invested by foreign sources, the State Statistics Committee told AssA-Irada.
78.8% of the investments was made in the private sector.

About the same percentage of the investments was made by businesses, while 7.5% budget funds and 3.5% savings of the population.

A total of $5.9 billion was invested in the country in 2005.
