The documents necessary for customs clearance as part of the temporary import procedure will be required from the owners of vehicles temporarily imported into the territory of Azerbaijan and not meeting Euro-4 environmental standard, to help regulate the content of harmful substances in the exhaust gases from August 16, 2014, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said on Aug. 5.

In case of a failure of submitting the documents for the temporary import of vehicles by the owners, a lack of information and revealing the risks associated with the temporary import procedure, the customs bodies will require a guarantee of the third party or a financial guarantee for the temporary import procedure or other guarantees set by the Customs Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to the statement.

The State Customs Committee holds the appropriate measures to ensure the customs legislation requirements in connection with the increased number of cases of non-compliance with terms of returning the vehicles temporarily imported into Azerbaijan and not meeting Euro-4 environmental standard, according to the report.
