Azerbaijan Railways CJSC plans to purchase 50 new rail cars, the company's head Arif Asgarov told Trend on Dec. 6.
He said that the company also intends to purchase 12 new passenger cars.
"The rail car supplier will be determined after a tender, and this may happen in 2014," the company's head said.
Asgarov previously said that the company is also considering the purchase of 300 new tank wagons for the carriage of oil and petroleum products.
The company plans to buy 100 new passenger cars to renovate its rail car fleet. Also it is planned to purchase 50 locomotives for cargo carriages and 12 locomotives for passenger transportation.
